El Coto is a brand of Rioja that is well recognised in Spain, but not that easily found in the UK. We have in stock the El Coto Crianza £5.99, A young Rioja, long, mellow and very pleasant. The El Coto Rosado £4.99 continues in a line of very successful roses currently coming from the Rioja Region. The Coto De Imaz Reserva £9.99 is a superb bottle of Rioja that to be honest will be at it's best in a couple of years, it's soft and velvety finish also has persistent tannins, hinting of greatness for those who wait.
Still in Spain, but moving to the Castilian plateau Cigales, we are proud to introduce two new wines to the County Stores.
Both are produced using very old vine stock. The first, Museum Crianza £7.99 is produced from the Tinto Fino Grape and is aged in oak for a period of between 13 and 16 months. Excellent concentration and aging potential with soft tannins in perfect balance with its acidity. Museum Real £10.99 is a beautifully presently bottle of wine, again produced from old vines, some over 90 years old, this complex wine is elegant with an impressive fruit concentration and lingering aftertaste. Suitable for laying down, again if you can wait.....
Still in Spain and back again to Rioja, we have three wines from Faustino Rivero Ulecia, namely Tinto, £4.99, Crianza £6.49 and Nostalgia £7.19. All three represent great value for money and are ripe fruity and vibrant wines and ideal for drinking now.
One World wines are a range of four wines, two from Australia and two from South Africa which have been blended to typify the best that each country has to offer. So the South African, Orange Street, wines are a dry zingy Chenin Blanc and a deep ruby Cabernet/Merlot whilst the Australian Ocean Point wines are represented by a fruit driven Chardonnay and a medium bodied Shiraz. All are available individually @ £5.99 each but are also on offer @ 2 for £10
